Bulgogi Burger

Bulgogi Burger

Here's a burger interpretation of bulgogi, for a delicious Korean-inspired sandwich. My recommendation is not to skimp on any ingredient, as each will be important: the bulgogi will provide that delicious sweet touch, the mayonnaise that incomparable warmth, and the vegetables a welcome freshness.

Duration: Less than 30 minutes.

15 minutes preparation and 10 minutes cooking.

Quantity: For 6 burgers

Ingredients:

  • 6 nice bun breads
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 600 g ground beef (choose slightly fatty meat, e.g., chuck or shoulder)
  • 1 cucumber sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang
  • 1 spring onion, cut lengthwise
  • A few leaves of Treviso lettuce
  • For the express bulgogi sauce:
  • 100 ml soy sauce
  • 60 ml apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar syrup
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Preparation:

Form 6 beautiful patties with the ground beef.

Blend the bulgogi sauce ingredients together in a mixer until the sauce is smooth.

Heat a large pan over medium heat and grill the patties for 3 minutes on each side, pouring a little bulgogi sauce over the meat during cooking.

When the beef is cooked, open the buns, butter them, and brown them in the pan.

Mix the mayonnaise with the gochujang and spread a good layer of this spicy mayonnaise on each half of the bun.

Place a lettuce leaf, then the bulgogi meat on the bottom bun, and sprinkle with chopped spring onion and cucumber slices. Serve immediately!

Enjoy your meal!
