This artisanal Gochujang, the famous Korean fermented chili paste, is produced by the Jook Jang Yeon brand in the Gyeongsang region, eastern South Korea. It is handcrafted with 100% South Korean ingredients.
This paste is made from red chili powder (gochugaru), malt syrup, glutinous rice paste, and salt. These ingredients are mixed and placed in large earthenware jars for fermentation for 3 to 6 months.
All these characteristics give this product an exceptionally powerful flavor, both sweet and spicy, with a very good length on the palate and excellent culinary versatility.
Its spiciness is definite, yet balanced and aromatic. It's a chili that "warms" without burning.

How to use this artisanal gochujang?
This is the most distinctive product in Korean cuisine, in my opinion, and it is used in many typical Korean dishes. You will need it in most Korean recipes.
I love using this gochujang to make Bibimbap sauce. Just mix two tablespoons with two tablespoons of very good sesame oil, add two crushed garlic cloves and a little sugar, then dilute with a little water. This sauce is absolutely delicious and will perfectly season your Bibimbap!
In dessert, with cheese, in mayonnaise, in a sauce... Find here all our ideas for cooking gochujang in your everyday kitchen.
Recommendations and distinctions:
