This Korean soy sauce is lighter in color than traditional soy sauce, but it has a stronger, saltier taste, allowing it to flavor large portions of soup without affecting the dish's color and appearance. It is mainly used in soups and namuls.
Traditionally, this soy sauce was made during the Doenjang production process. Fermented soybeans are placed in brine to make doenjang. Once finished, the solid paste becomes doenjang, and the remaining liquid becomes soup soy sauce. "Guk": soup and "Ganjang": soy sauce.
How to use Korean soy sauce?
It is an essential ingredient in Korean cuisine, especially for namuls, stews, or soups. It is slightly saltier than Sempio's Jin Ganjang, which is more classic.
In daily cooking, this soy sauce can be used to salt your broths or soups instead of salt.
