Japanese curry preparation.
An essential part of Japanese street food, Japanese curry is a delicious curry sauce served with rice and meat (often breaded chicken). Its delicious sweet and spicy flavors are a real treat.
This preparation comes in the form of 8 small blocks divided into two airtight sachets. Count approximately 1 sachet (i.e., 4 blocks) to prepare curry for 6 people.
This preparation is moderately spicy, corresponding to the "classic" level of Japanese curry spiciness.
How to use Japanese curry blocks?
Sauté 450 grams of the meat of your choice (beef, chicken, shrimp...) in a large pot for about 5 minutes. Add 660 ml of water and bring to a boil, reduce and cook covered until the meat is tender. Remove from heat and add 4 curry blocks, stir and let stand until the blocks are completely dissolved. Mix well and serve immediately with rice.
For an even more flavorful and gourmet recipe, I recommend sautéing ginger, garlic, onion, carrot, and apple in a knob of butter. When the vegetables begin to brown, add boiling water, then the curry blocks. Simmer over low heat until the vegetables are very tender. Blend with a hand blender until you get a smooth sauce, and let it thicken for another 5 minutes over very low heat. You then have your base sauce to season your breaded chicken fillets to eat with rice.
