This Dukbaegi bowl (or Ttukbaegi) is a traditional vessel used to serve jjigae (Korean stews) or hot soups like Sundubu Jjigae or Doenjang Jjigae. Made of ceramic, it retains heat for a long time, allowing dishes to be served steaming hot at the table.
With a diameter of 17.6 cm, this size is perfect for individual servings. This bowl is made in China according to Korean standards. It comes without a wooden board.
How to use the Dukbaegi bowl
The dukbaegi can be used directly over a flame (gas recommended). Heat gently, then add the ingredients for your soup or stew and let it simmer until it boils. Then serve as is; the bowl will retain its heat throughout the meal.
Do not use in the microwave. Avoid thermal shock (do not place on a cold surface immediately after cooking). Handwashing is recommended.
