During my visit to Geumsan, the Korean capital of red ginseng, I tasted an impressive quantity of ginseng-based products. While the extracts are powerful, sometimes overly concentrated, I wanted to rediscover that characteristic root flavor, but in a softer and more pleasant version for daily consumption.

This red ginseng syrup, also called "Chung", was a true revelation: thick, caramelized, almost fresh, with a slight earthy touch reminiscent of roasted beets. It combines intensity, sweetness, and depth – a real treat.

🍯 A Concentrated and Versatile Syrup

Made from 100% local Korean ingredients, this syrup combines red ginseng extract (20%), fructo-oligosaccharides, and liquid fructose, for a perfect balance between benefits and taste pleasure.
It contains 2 mg of ginseng per gram, and a dense texture ideal for many uses.

🌿 How to Use It?

This red ginseng syrup is a culinary gem. It can be diluted in five times its volume of water, milk, or plant-based milk for a soothing and comforting wellness drink. It's also excellent in a ginseng latte, or mixed with yogurt.

In cooking, it adds a sweet and slightly rooty touch perfect for seasoning Korean pancakes (jeon), fritters, or light fried dishes. It can also be used as a topping on desserts (cheesecake, cake, yogurt, etc.) or even on roasted vegetables like sweet potato.

Finally, you can also enjoy it pure, by the spoon, as a small concentrated pleasure of caramelized ginseng.
