Prepared from fermented bean paste, spices, and chilies, this sauce offers a perfect balance of spiciness and umami. It is ideal for making the famous Ma Po Tofu, an emblematic Chinese dish made with tofu, minced meat, and spices. With a 340g jar, you have enough to prepare several servings.
How to use Ma Po Tofu sauce?
This sauce is perfect for preparing Mapo Tofu. Sauté an onion and minced pork (or pre-fried tofu) in a pan. Once the meat is sufficiently cooked and caramelized, add the ready-made sauce and sauté for 5 minutes.
Then add firm tofu at the end of cooking, let it cook covered for another 5 minutes, and add chives before serving, with white rice. If the consistency of the dish is not liquid enough, feel free to add a little water.
Count approximately 500 grams of minced meat to cook one jar.
