Taste the thin wheat noodles somen or somyeon. These very thin noodles will be perfect for a light broth, or to accompany dishes with stronger flavors.
How to cook Somen noodles?
Bring a pot of water to a boil, and cook these somen noodles for about 3 to 4 minutes, stirring them with wooden chopsticks. Then drain the noodles, rinse them with cold water, and place them in a dashi broth, for example, which you can season with chopped scallions.
You can also enjoy them cold, after rinsing them with ice water, by seasoning them with soy sauce and perilla oil.
