Misugaru is one of those products that many customers had been asking us for several months. When our former supplier stopped production, we preferred to wait rather than offer a replacement that did not meet our requirements.
After extensive research, it was finally thanks to the recommendation of a French customer passionate about healthy eating that we discovered Misillan. This Korean company has specialized in sprouted grains and sprouted brown rice for over twenty years. After several exchanges and tastings, we were convinced by the quality of their misugaru, which we are happy to offer today on Korea Store.
Misugaru made from selected grains
Misugaru is a traditional Korean preparation made from roasted grains finely ground into a powder. Very popular in Korea, it is consumed for breakfast as well as a snack, mixed with water, milk or a plant-based drink.
This version developed by Misillan combines barley, brown rice, soy, glutinous rice, and a blend of organic sprouted rice. The grains are roasted then processed into a particularly fine powder, designed to mix easily and offer a smooth texture in the mouth.
Its flavor evokes roasted cereals, malted barley and toasted rice, with a natural sweetness reminiscent of breakfast cereals. Prepared with milk, it develops a more generous and comforting texture, while with water it reveals more of its toasted grain notes.
How to use Misillan misugaru?
Pour about 3 to 4 tablespoons (18g) into a glass or shaker, then add 200ml of water, milk or a plant-based drink. Mix vigorously until you get a homogeneous preparation. Depending on your preferences, you can add a little honey, sugar or rice syrup.
Misugaru can also be incorporated into a smoothie, mixed with yogurt, sprinkled on ice cream or used in some pastry preparations to bring particularly delicious toasted cereal notes.
