Doenjang is a savory, deeply flavored fermented soybean paste. Produced by Sempio, this 460g version is perfect for regular use in cooking. It's a staple ingredient in Korean cuisine, used in many soups, marinades, and sauces.

It's notably found in Doenjang Jjigae, a traditional Korean stew, but also as a seasoning or dip like Samjang. It's the Korean equivalent of Japanese miso, with a more pronounced fermentation.

How to use Sempio Doenjang

Soup: Dissolve a tablespoon in hot water, add tofu, vegetables or mushrooms, and simmer.

Marinade: Mix with garlic, soy sauce, sugar, and ginger to enhance meat or fish.

Sauce: Incorporate a little paste with garlic, rice vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil to accompany raw vegetables or fried dishes.
